Approval applications for food supplements are made to the provincial directorates of the TR Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Istanbul and Ankara provincial directorates are authorized for the approval of food supplements to be imported, and 81 provincial directorates are authorized for domestic production.
Approval for food supplements to be imported is obtained before the application for the control document if it is subject to the control document, and before the preliminary notification for those who are not subject to the control document.
It is obligatory to obtain approval before placing on the market for products in capsules, tablets, lozenges, disposable powder packs, liquid ampoules, dropper bottles and other forms, which are considered as supplements and can be placed on the market as ready-to-eat in bulk.
